This hands‑on training course is designed for builders, conservation professionals, and enthusiastic homeowners who want to work confidently and safely with hot lime mortar, non‑hydraulic lime mortar, and natural hydraulic lime (NHL).

What you'll learn

• Gain a clear, practical understanding of the diffrences between hot lime, non-hydraulic lime and NHL mortars.
• Learn correct mixing ratios and preparation techniques 
• Develop the skills to remove defective mortar, prepare joints, apply new lime mortar and finish to a professional standard
• Understand why lime is essential for historic buildings
• Work directly with each mortar type under expert guidance, gaining confidence through real-world application

Location & Time

This course is held onsite at Womersleys Ltd, Ravensthorpe Indust Est, Low Mill Lane, Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire, WF13 3LN, starting 9.00am duration around 4 hours. Please arrive ten minutes early to check in. Limited spaces are available, with a maximum of 12 participants per course.

Attendees should wear practical clothing and footwear suitable for hands-on work that you don't mind getting a bit mucky! Warmer layers are recommended as the warehouse gets cold.
